SmartShopper Electronics, LLC. produces handheld, electronic devices. The co-founders, Richard G. Brindisi and Gregory Vittardi hold a pending patent (# 60/717,939) on a device that uses voice recognition. This technology allows the user to simply say the name of a grocery item, the unit recognizes it, and shows it on the LCD screen. The unit saves these into memory until the user is ready to go shopping. They can print the list directly from the unit on an embedded thermal paper roll. In addition, the patent is broad enough to cover other applications that SmartShopper plans to pursue, including but not limited to office supplies, home improvement and hardware as well as serving the electrical and plumbing contracting industry.
