AOC continues commitment to ‘green’ technology by extending LED monitor offerings and creating an online calculator to help consumers estimate their PC monitors’ energy consumption and costs
Fremont, Calif. – August 18, 2011– AOC, the worldwide leader in monitor display technology, announces the expansion of its LED monitor range in 2012. AOC has also released an Online Power Savings Calculator to help consumers estimate their monitors’ energy consumption and associated costs, and evaluate the potential savings of transitioning to LED technology in their own home or business.

AOC will expand its popular line of Aire and slim line LED monitors, known for their impressive image quality, ENERGY STAR® ratings and ultra-thin design. At least three new LED models are set to debut in the coming months, including a flicker-free 3D gaming monitor, an aluminum-framed IPS monitor and a USB-powered ultra-portable monitor. Each monitor will be manufactured to meet the most stringent green standards while offering a sleek and innovative design.
LED monitors offer many benefits including higher contrast ratios, slimmer designs and breakthrough picture quality. LED monitors do not include hazardous materials like mercury and lead, two elements that are environmentally dangerous and commonly found in CRT monitors. The monitors are extremely energy efficient and consume at least 30 percent less power than traditional LCD and CRT monitors. Many AOC LED monitors also feature power saving modes that use 50 percent less electricity than older models.
To help consumers be more aware of their power consumption, conserve energy and reduce their carbon footprint, AOC created an online calculator that computes these figures based on monitor type, quantity and frequency of use. This tool allows consumers and businesses to evaluate their current power consumption and measure the benefits of transitioning to the more eco-friendly LED monitors.
